  • Technical Support/mySupport
    • How can I find technical support regarding Altera products?
      • You can find information regarding Altera products on our website using the Search functionality with the appropriate keywords. If you need technical assistance, you can refer to the Knowledge Database in the Altera Support Center and to the Altera Forum and the Nios Wiki website. You can also submit service requests using our online submission system called mySupport.

    • How do I register for a mySupport account?
      • Registration instructions:

        1. Enter your Email Address under Create Your myAltera Account in mySupport.
        2. Click Create Account.
        3. Check your Email Inbox for a link to the next step in the registration process.
        4. Click the I Accept button on the Terms of Service Agreement page. The first page of the registration process will appear.
        5. Complete each of the screens in the registration process. On the final page of the registration process, click the hyperlink to logon to mySupport.

    • How do I follow up on a Service Request in mySupport?
      • Please log on to mySupport using your login ID and password to update your Service Request.

    • How can I retrieve my mySupport account username and/or password?
      • You can request a User Name and/or Password on the Lost Password and Username page. First, use your email address you registered your account with to obtain your username then use your retrieved username to obtain your password. If you already know your username, you can retrieve your password directly. The username and/or Password will be sent to your email address. If you do not find the mail in your Inbox, please check your Junk mail folder.

    • Why does my username have an _x_ in the prefix and/or suffix?
      • This means that your account has been inactivated due to lack of information during registration. It is not a valid login. Please use the Feedback form below and provide your mySupport username or email account.

    • Where can I find downloads for Altera software?
      • You can find Altera software downloads on the Downloads page.

    • How do I request a software DVD?
      • You can request a software DVD using the Altera IP and Sofware DVD Request Form.

    • Where can I download older versions of the Quartus II software?
      • You can find older versions of the Quartus II Software in the Quartus II Software Archive.

    • Why does my download fail?
      • If the file you are downloading is large, you are encouraged to use the Altera Download Manager which allows you to pause and resume downloads. Please enable popups in your browser and check that you have turned off all pop-up blockers in any third-party toolbars, such as the Yahoo toolbar or Google toolbar. The Download Manager opens in a new window.

    • Is the Altera software compatible with my operating system?
      • Please refer to the Operating System Support page.

  • Licensing
    • Where can I obtain Altera software licenses?
      • You can obtain licenses on the Altera Licensing Page. Fill in the form with your details and a valid email address. The license file will be sent to your email address. Please check your Junk mail folder if you do not see it in your Inbox.

    • What is an Altera ID and where can I get it?
      • Your Altera ID is assigned to you by Altera and printed on the software shipping label or packing slip and on correspondence from Altera. Registered users can find their Altera ID under the profile section at MySupport.

    • How can I purchase Altera Software Subscription Edition licenses for Altera software?
      • To purchase or renew a subscription, buy online or contact your local distributor or sales representative. For subscription purchases or renewals in North America, call (888) 800-0631. For more information about the subscription program, please see the Altera Subscription Program Advantage.

    • Where can I find more information on license installation?
      • Please refer to the Licensing FAQ page.

    • Where can I find my NIC number?
      • Your network interface card (NIC) number is a 12-digit hexadecimal number that identifies the workstation that serves Quartus II licenses.

        1. Click on Start > Run.
        2. Type cmd.
        3. Type ipconfig/all in the command prompt.
        4. Your NIC number is the number on the physical address line, minus the dashes.
        For an example of the NIC number: NIC. In the example, the NIC number will be 00C04FA392EF.

    • My License does not work. What should I do?
      • Please submit a service request via mySupport.
