The integration capability of Altera's Cyclone series FPGAs enabled us to combine DVB-ASI reception and transmission functions into a single device. In this way, we eliminated two expensive, power-hungry chips, which allowed us to realize these products with the most compact form factor, and reduced our manufacturing costs."
