Recently, I used Quartus II to develop Stratix FPGA-based designs for satellite broadcast products, including our HE4000 HD and SD encoder. Quartus II provides much better compilation times than MAX+PLUS II, better resource utilization, and also delivers better integrated support for VHDL.
