The Altera® Sales organization is an international, customer-focused team of Field Sales Engineers, Field Applications Engineers, Inside Sales Representatives, Strategic Account Managers, and Sales Support team members. These sales professionals build relationships with customers and distributors, provide training on Altera products, and create design-win opportunities.
The following descriptions list the opportunities available inside Altera's Sales organizations.
Product Engineering
Altera uses sophisticated tools to verify functionality and characterize logic devices prior to customer delivery. Product Engineering performs extensive process development and yield enhancement to turn engineering prototypes into high-volume winners. Key products and services include device characterization, test software development, circuit prototype analysis, physical failure analysis, and process yield improvement. Product engineers need a wide range of technical skills, from software to leading-edge device physics.
North America Sales
The North America Sales organization has numerous locations throughout the United States and Canada. The direct sales team calls on Altera's top customers, which represent about two-thirds of Altera's business. Typical positions within this organization include Regional Sales Managers, District Sales Managers, Field Sales Engineers, and Inside Sales Representatives.
Europe Sales
The Europe Sales organization is headquartered in the U.K., and offers opportunities in the U.K., France, Italy, Germany, Sweden, and Finland. In 1998, Europe grew faster than any other region for Altera. Typical positions within the European Sales organization include Regional Sales Managers, District Sales Managers, Strategic Account Managers, Field Sales Engineers, Inside Sales Representatives, and various Marketing, Information Systems, Finance, and Customer Service positions.
Japan Sales
The Japan Sales organization is located in Tokyo, Japan, and is the number-one programmable logic device (PLD) supplier in the country. This region offers opportunities such as Regional Sales Managers, District Sales Managers, Field Sales Engineers, Inside Sales Representatives, and various Marketing and Quality Assurance positions.
Asia Pacific Sales
The Asia Pacific Sales organization is headquartered in Hong Kong and offers opportunities in Hong Kong, Korea, and Taiwan. The region is the number-one PLD supplier in the Asia Pacific and offers opportunities as Regional Sales Managers, District Sales Managers, Inside Sales Representatives, and various Customer Service positions.
Sales - Worldwide Field Applications Engineering
The Field Applications Engineer (FAE) role provides a unique opportunity to see exciting developments in cellular, digital broadcast video, Internet, and other leading technologies. FAEs work directly with leading edge computer and communications companies and assists them in the use of Altera's programmable logic to bring their innovations to market ahead of their competitors.
Sales - Operations
The Sales Operations organization is a unique blend of customer service, meeting and event planning, information systems, and business analysis. The positions within this organization are chartered to support the entire Sales organization.
