Scott Wylie Joins Altera As Vice President of Investor Relations

SAN JOSE, Calif--March 30, 2000--Altera Corporation (Nasdaq: ALTR) today announced that Scott Wylie has joined the company as Vice President of Investor Relations reporting to Nathan Sarkisian, Chief Financial Officer. Mr. Wylie was previously Director of Corporate Communications at Raychem Corporation. During his 22 year Raychem career, Mr. Wylie served in a variety of human resource and government relations roles prior to serving in his most recent capacity as the company's senior communications and investor relations executive.

Mr. Wylie is a graduate of Williams College and holds an MBA degree from Stanford University. Mr. Lance Lissner, who previously had responsibility for Altera's investor relations and business development activities, will now focus exclusively on business development.
