Spike Technologies Takes Chip Design To The Next Level in Partnership with Altera
Expert Design Services of Spike Available Through Altera Consultant Alliance Program
San Jose, Calif., June 25, 2001 -- Altera Corporation (Nasdaq: ALTR) and Spike Technologies, Inc., a Milpitas, Calif. custom chip design company, announced today that the companies have entered into a partnership agreement through the Altera Consultant Alliance Program (ACAP®). Leveraging Altera's pioneering system-on-a-programmable-chip (SOPC) solutions, the partnership gives Altera customers access to unparalleled engineering expertise for the rapid development of systems from concept, through design and synthesis, and into testing and integration.
Spike Technologies has built a reputation as an expert engineering design house for complex product design utilizing Altera PLDs. Spike's areas of expertise include buses and interfaces, processors and peripherals, especially within telecom and datacom applications. Altera understands that high-tech companies require specialized skills and immediate resources to keep pace with today's market dynamics and chose Spike to be part of ACAP based on its proven ability to deliver crucial time-to-market solutions.
"This partnership with Altera will help us conquer the technical challenges our customers face using the most sophisticated programmable logic technology available," said Pradeep Vajram, COO of Spike Technologies. "Endorsed by this partnership, our expert knowledge of Altera's SOPC solutions including architectures, software, and IP cores allows Spike to provide unsurpassed custom chip design services for our mutual customers," he added.
"We are delighted to collaborate with an established service provider such as Spike as our newest ACAP partner," said Craig Lytle, vice president of Altera's intellectual property business unit. "Their valuable experience with Altera SOPC solutions will help our mutual customers develop cutting-edge applications."
Altera recognizes that increasing PLD densities drive more complex designs, which in turn increases the need for technical customer support. Through ACAP, Altera is able to identify expert design consultants and refer their services and expertise to customers through Altera's broad marketing and sales channels.
About ACAP
Altera created the Altera Consultants Alliance Program to provide Altera customers with superior engineering consultants who possess expertise in Altera's device SOPC product solutions and a proven ability to accelerate complex PLD design schedules to facilitate customer time-to-market needs. Altera's ACAP is made up of a diverse group of consultants who can help Altera customers accelerate their design cycle times. ACAP consultants are required to attend training sessions provided by Altera.
