Altera Corporation (NASDAQ: ALTR) will present at the International Conference on Engineering of Reconfigurable Systems and Algorithms (ERSA ’03) in Las Vegas next week. Titled “Building the System You Need¾Altera FPGA Technology Provides Innovative Solution for Evolving Market Needs,” the presentation will discuss how the combination of Altera’s Nios® embedded processor, system development tools, and field programmable gate arrays (FPGAs) such as the Stratix™ device family enable the development of reconfigurable, high-performance systems.
By implementing Altera’s Nios embedded processor, designers can simplify their system configuration and take advantage of high-performance FPGA features such as digital signal processing (DSP) blocks, TriMatrix™ memory, and gigabit transceiver blocks. These features enable hardware acceleration of performance critical functions, allowing FPGAs to be used as co-processors. In addition, Altera’s SOPC Builder and DSP Builder system development tools speed the design of complex systems while providing an easy-to-use platform for targeting Altera’s high-performance programmable logic device families.
