Altera Appoints Advance Rep as New Sales Representative in France

Paris, August 28, 2006—Altera Corporation (NASDAQ:ALTR) today announced the appointment of Advance Rep as its sales representative in France. Advance Rep will focus on strategic accounts and reinforce Altera’s sales teams in new markets as demand for its portfolio of FPGAs, CPLDs and structured ASICs grows. Advance Rep’s strong technical and sales expertise will augment Altera France’s existing sales and distribution channel currently supported by Arrow Electronics and EBV Elektronik.
