Find Out What FPGAs Can Do for Your Embedded System
How can you decrease your development time? Are there ways to improve your product and make the design process easier? Visit us to find out about the latest FPGA devices, development tools, development boards, and reference designs for the embedded, industrial, and automotive markets.
Altera Technology Demonstrations
Demonstrations will include several examples of FPGA-based applications:
- SoC FPGA Virtual Target used to develop ARM software for SoC FPGA devices
- 3D display technology enabled by high-performance FPGA processing
- World’s first FPGA-based 1080p30 high-definition (HD) video analytics solution featuring Altera’s Cyclone® IV FPGA
- Motor control demonstration comparing the performance of floating- and fixed-point implementations automatically generated from MATLAB models using the DSP Builder automated development flow
Come and meet the experts at the Altera stand to discuss your application and what Altera can offer to improve your product offering – or just join us to get an update on the latest developments and see what amazing things can be achieved with FPGAs.

Software Debug Using a Virtual Target
3 p.m. – 3:30 p.m, Wednesday, February 29,
Session 10, Software Development and Debug Methods II
In most projects companies actively seek ways to reduce time to market and with today’s complex projects, this usually involves finding ways to accelerate software development. In situations where a development board or even silicon devices are not available, software development can still begin immediately if a virtual target is available. A virtual target is a full simulation of a development board - not just a model of a single processor. Companies like TI and Altera are making virtual targets available to their customers to enable early pre-silicon or pre-development board software development. This presentation will describe how to set up and use a virtual target and show the additional benefits of developing with a system model compared to the use of a development board with JTAG-based debug.
