Course Description
This interactive tutorial teaches you the basic components of the Quartus® II design software including best-practice design flows, project management & design tools, & programming a device with your tested design. Each tutorial module has a Show Me, Guide Me, & Test Me component to first achieve an understanding of a design feature & then test you on what you have learned. You can navigate to any module in the tutorial at any time with the Table of Contents & explore features at your own pace. The tutorial contains 7 modules each taking ~25 minutes to complete: Quartus II Overview, Create a Design, Compile a Design, Run Timing Analysis, Run Timing Simulation, Configure a Device & Incremental Compilation. Note: this tutorial is also available within the Quartus II software version 8.0.
At Course Completion
- Create and manage a Quartus II project & design
- Compile a design using Compiler settings to customize processing
- Assign & view device resources
- Achieve timing closure with the TimeQuest timing analyzer
- Enter stimulus vectors & run a timing simulation
- Program a device
- Reduce compilation time & preserve design performance using the incremental compilation design flow methodology
