Course Description
This training will teach you the essentials of metastability analysis for FPGA designs. After this training, you will better understand metastability and how to reduce its likelihood in your design. You will, specifically, learn about the automated tools within the Quartus® II software that help you identify potential sources of metastability and also how to overcome it.At Course Completion
You will be able to:- Understand how metastability can cause failures
- Understand how mean time between failures (MTBF) is calculated
- Automatically identify design structures that could lead to metastability problems using the Quartus II software
- Mark synchronization registers for MTBF analysis
- Generate and understand metastability reports
- Optimize a design to reduce metastability effects
