FPGA to Board Design Flow Using Mentor Graphics Tools (ODSW1170)
1.5 Hours Online Interactive Tutorial Course

Course Description

This course is a user-controlled interactive tutorial presenting the Quartus® II software v. 5.1 design flow with third-party board-level tools to manage and transfer I/O assignments. Discussed are the processes involved with the I/O assignment transfer process between the Quartus II software and Mentor Graphics I/O Designer software. You will be guided through the process of creating an I/O Designer database file. You will learn how to use that database file to update I/O assignments in the Quartus II software and to create custom circuit schematic symbols of your FPGA design.

At Course Completion

  • Setting up the Quartus II software to generate necessary files (.pin and .fx)
  • Creating an I/O Designer database project
  • Updating signal and pin assignment changes
  • Transferring changes between I/O Designer and the Quartus II software
  • Creating circuit schematic symbols for DxDesigner

Prerequisites

We recommend completing the following courses:
