Course Description
Learn to design-in a soft processor with an FPGA. This course focuses on hands-on development of Nios® II hardware and software using the Nios II Development Kit. You'll integrate a Nios II 32-bit microprocessor and test it in an FPGA. You'll configure and compile designs using Quartus® II software v.11.0 and Qsys, and run embedded software code in Nios II Software Build Tools for Eclipse.At Course Completion
You will be able to:- Configure & compile a Nios II processor design using Qsys & Quartus II tools
- Create software projects using the Nios II Software Build Tools for Eclipse
- Compile, run, & debug embedded software
- Verify your design with Quartus II software, ModelSim-Altera, & the Nios II Software Build Tools for Eclipse
- Incorporate custom peripherals & instructions into an embedded system
- Access peripherals from C using Nios II HAL API functions
- Design with the Nios II development kit

Skills Required
- Background in digital logic design
- Working knowledge of the Quartus II design software
