Developing Software for the Nios II Processor: Nios II IDE (OEMB1127)
0.5 Hours Online Course

Home > Training > Training Courses > Course Catalog > Course

Course Description

This installment of the “Developing Software for the Nios® II Processor” online training series introduces the Nios II Integrated Development Environment (IDE) within the Quartus® II software v. 7.2. You will learn how to create new software projects in the Nios II IDE and also how to manage files within those projects. We will demonstrate how to write simple programs for the Nios II IDE, and specifically show you how to write code to flash LEDs on a Nios II development board. NOTE: It is recommended that all new designs use the Nios II Software Build Tools for Eclipse. The only exception is for designs which use the Nios II C2H Compiler which is currently only supported in the legacy Nios II IDE in the Quartus II software v9.1.

At Course Completion

You will be able to:
  • Understand the Nios II IDE software development environment
  • Write simple programs for the Nios II processor

Prerequisites

We recommend completing the following courses:
  • Developing Software for the Nios II Processor: Design Flow
  • Developing Software for the Nios II Processor: Tools Overview
  • Using the Nios II Processor
