Course Description

This installment of the “Developing Software for the Nios® II Processor” online training series covers the basic principles of debugging software for the Nios II processor. You will be introduced to the fundamentals of the Nios II IDE debugger as well as its features. You will see a demo on how to set up a debug session in the Nios II IDE and debug a small application.

At Course Completion

You will be able to:
  • Understand the Nios II IDE debugger
  • Set up a debug session and debug a Nios II application

Prerequisites

We recommend completing the following courses:

  • Developing Software for the Nios II Processor: Tools Overview
  • Using the Nios II Processor

Skills Required

  • Basic knowledge of tools used in embedded development
  • Basic understanding of the Quartus® II software, Nios II EDS and SOPC Builder
