Course Description
During this training you will become familiar with the concept of the Viterbi algorithm. You’ll learn about trellis construction and traceback operation in the Viterbi decoder MegaCore® function in the Quartus® II software v. 6.0 and different trellis termination schemes used in convolutional encoders.At Course Completion
You will be able to:- Understand the theory of the Viterbi decoder
- Develop a convolutional encoder
- Understand the operations in Viterbi decoder such as trellis construction and traceback operation
Skills Required
- Background in digital signal processing
- Understanding of wireless fundamentals
- Some familiarity with the Altera Viterbi decoder MegaCore function is recommended but not required
