Official Rules for the Meet Your FPGA Design Requirements with Maximum Productivity Net Seminar

NO PURCHASE NECESSARY.

  1. How to Enter: The Meet Your FPGA Design Requirements with Maximum Productivity Net Seminar—Drawing ("Drawing") begins at 9:00 AM Pacific Time on August 27, 2007 and ends at 12:00 midnight Pacific Time on Monday, October 1, 2007 ("Drawing Period"). No purchase is necessary.

A.      Mail Entry: Print your name, address, and telephone number on a 3-inch by 5-inch index card ("Mail Entry Form") and mail it to: Altera Corporation, Attn: Net Seminar Drawing Program Manager, Corporate Marketing Department, 101 Innovation Drive, San Jose, CA, 95134, USA. Each Mail Entry Form must be mailed separately. Mail Entry Forms must be postmarked by the last day of the Drawing and received within three (3) business days. Multiple entries entered by other than human means (i.e., other than hand-printed or hand-entered for Internet entry) are ineligible.

B.      Internet Entry: Use a computer or other Internet access device to access the net seminar website at http://www.altera.com/education/webcasts/all/wc-2007-stratix3-quartus2.html ("Website") at any time during the Drawing Period. Once on the Website, register for and participate in the Altera-sponsored net seminar. At the conclusion of the net seminar, you will be prompted to complete the Feedback Form ("Internet Entry Form"). Fully complete the Internet Entry Form and then transmit it by clicking the "Submit" button. Information requested on the Internet Entry Form consists of your name, company, title, address, email address, telephone number, and answers to certain questions concerning the net seminar. LIMIT ONE (1) INTERNET ENTRY PER PERSON/HOSTID/GUARDID/NICID.

  1. Eligibility: Only legal persons, (i) who are physically located and residing in the Continental U.S. or otherwise eligible under applicable local laws, (ii) who receive an email invitation to the Net Seminar directly from Altera, (iii) who are 18 years of age or older as of the commencement of the Drawing Period, and (iv) who are engineers or engineering management members currently employed by a company that is currently involved in the design, manufacture, and selling of products that incorporate or have the possibility of incorporating programmable logic devices (PLDs) (semiconductors) manufactured by Altera Corporation, or who otherwise properly submit the Mail Entry Form, are eligible to enter the Drawing. Employees of Altera Corporation, including its distributors and sales representatives, and those involved in the development, production (including prize suppliers), implementation and distribution of this Drawing, and their advertising or promotion agencies, parent companies, agents, officers, subsidiaries, service providers and affiliates, and any other persons or entities directly associated with this Drawing ("Drawing Entities") and members of the immediate families and/or persons living in the same household as such persons are ineligible to enter the Drawing or win the prize.
  2. Prize/Odds of Winning:  One (1) RCA Lyra 20GB Audio/Video Jukebox (US$160 value) will be awarded to the winner. No transfer, substitution, or cash equivalent for the prize is permitted, except at Sponsor's sole discretion, due to prize unavailability for any reason and then only for a prize of comparable value. Odds of winning depend on the number of eligible entries received but is estimated at approximately 1:300 based on an anticipated number of eligible entries. Any depiction of prize is for illustrative purpose only.
  3. Drawing and Notification: One (1) winner will be selected in a random drawing on October 15, 2007 from all eligible entries received by the Sponsor for the Drawing. The winner will be notified by phone and/or mail and/or email. If the potential winner cannot be reached after a reasonable effort has been exerted during ten (10) business days from the date of the Drawing, or if he/she is found to be ineligible, or if he/she cannot or does not comply with these Official Rules, such potential winner(s) will be disqualified and an alternate winner will be selected.
  4. General Conditions: This Drawing is subject to all applicable federal, state, and local laws and regulations. Return of prize or prize notification as undeliverable will result in disqualification of the winner and an alternate winner may be selected. Acceptance of prize constitutes permission for the Sponsor and its agencies to use the winner's name, address (city and state), statements, biographical information, voice, photo and/or likeness for advertising and trade purposes without further compensation, worldwide and in perpetuity, in any and all forms of media, now known and hereafter devised, including without limitation online, unless prohibited by law. Entries become the sole property of Sponsor and will not be returned. Any person attempting to defraud Sponsor or in any way tamper with this Drawing will be ineligible for the prize and will be prosecuted to the full extent of the law. If, for any reason, the Internet portion of the Drawing is not capable of running as originally planned, such as tampering or infection by computer virus, Sponsor, at its sole discretion, reserves the right to cancel the Internet portion of the Drawing and conduct the Drawing from all eligible mail entries received. Void where prohibited by law.
  5. Judging: This Drawing is subject to these Official Rules that will be posted at the Drawing Website during the Drawing Period. By entering the Drawing, entrants agree to waive any right to claim any ambiguity or error in the Official Rules or the Drawing itself, and agree to be bound by these Official Rules and by all decisions of the Sponsor, which are final and binding in all respects. By entering the Drawing, entrants affirm that they have read and accepted these Official Rules.
  6. Disclaimers: Entrants agree that Drawing Entities shall not be liable for losses or injuries of any kind resulting from acceptance/possession and/or use/misuse of prize, participation in this Drawing, or any technical malfunctions of the telephone network, computer online system, computer dating mechanism, software, or any combination thereof, or any illegible, damaged, lost, late (including delayed transmissions), mutilated, forged, destroyed, tampered with, misdirected, postage due, incomplete, mass machine printed, mechanically duplicated entries or entries otherwise not in compliance with these Official Rules, and such entries will be disqualified. Entrants also agree that the Drawing Entities are not responsible or liable for any injury or damage to an entrant's or third person's computer and/or its contents, related to or resulting from any part of this Drawing.
