The FalconEye motor control development kit from EBV Elektronik (see Figure 1) is a versatile Cyclone® III FPGA-based motor control kit optimized for controlling brushless direct current (BLDC) motors. The kit is made up of a motor, powerstage board, FPGA board, and a motor control reference design complete with documentation. You can easily convert the kit for use with brushless alternating current (BLAC) motors, switched reluctance (SR) motors, and induction motors (IM). The reference design implements high-performance real-time VHDL control hardware on the Cyclone III FPGA and C control software running on the Nios® II embedded processor within the FPGA.
