In addition to high-performance and cost-effective devices and easy-to-use software tools, Altera provides a wide array of intellectual property (IP) and reference designs to accelerate the design of WiMAX RF cards. Examples include finite impulse response (FIR) and numerically controlled oscillator (NCO) compilers, as well as reference designs for digital upconversion and downconversion. Altera and its wireless ecosystem partner Radiocomp offer CPRI and OBSAI RP3-01 IP that supports W-CDMA, CDMA2000, WiMAX end points, and remote radio head configuration. You can pick and choose the desired blocks and either integrate them directly into your overall designs or use them as a starting point to accelerate your own make solution.

Radiocomp—WiMAX-Compliant Radio Subsystems

Radiocomp offers the best-in-class, compact and light-weight, WiMAX-compliant remote radio heads with unsurpassed quality and reliability. With support for CPRI- and OBSAI-compliant optical interfaces and multi-carrier and multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) capability, Radiocomp’s WiMAX RRH products utilize Altera’s Cyclone® III FPGAs and Nios® II embedded processor to achieve high levels of integration.

TelASIC Communications—WiMAX-Compliant Radio Subsystems

Altera's wireless ecosystem partner TelASIC Communications offers high-performance, carrier-class radio subsystems for WiMAX basestations, employing advanced CFR and adaptive DPD techniques combined with state-of-the art analog-to-digital converter (ADC) and digital-to-analog converter (DAC) technologies. The standards-compliant WiMAX solution utilizes Altera® FPGAs, HardCopy® ASICs, and Nios II embedded processors to achieve high levels of integration and builds on the successful partnership for 3G/3.5G basestation radios.
