Development Kits, Download Cables & Programming Tools
Altera® offers a variety of tools to accelerate the design process. Together with selected partners, Altera offers a wide range of development kits that contain everything an engineer needs to create and implement a design in hours.
Altera has developed the High Speed Mezzanine Card (HSMC) Specification to standardize the interface of mezzanine cards to host boards. This specification outlines both the electrical and mechanical properties of the interface between mezzanine and host. Altera and partners will be offering a variety of host platforms and mezzanine cards that comply to this specification. The electrical and mechanical properties of the high-speed mezzanine card interface are defined in the Altera HSMC specification.
Altera download cables support in-system programming of Altera MAX® and configuration devices and in-circuit reconfiguration of Altera SRAM-based and embedded processor devices.
The Altera Programming Unit (APU) provides the hardware and software needed for programming Altera devices, when used with the appropriate programming adapters. The Quartus® II Stand-Alone Programmer gives a designer the ability to program, verify, and examine Altera devices without the full version of the Quartus II software.
