Filtering
When implemented in programmable logic devices (PLDs), digital filters such as finite impulse response (FIR) and infinite impulse response (IIR) provide more than 10 times the performance of digital signal processors. Altera's FIR compiler and IIR compiler digital signal processing (DSP) functions can reduce design time from weeks to hours.
Altera's Stratix™ FPGA family has several DSP-specific features that are ideally suited for filtering functions, including embedded multipliers and DSP blocks.
