Description
The CS6150 motion JPEG (M-JPEG) decoder is a highly integrated virtual-component solution for leading-edge image decompression applications. The CS6150 belongs to the Amphion CS6100 series of high-performance image processing application-specific core solutions for programmable logic device (PLD) design. Aimed at a broad range of high-performance/low-cost consumer and professional imaging applications requiring baseline JPEG or M-JPEG compliant still image decompression in real time, the CS6150 supports the decoding of full-color image datastreams up to 37 megasamples per second (with APEX™ II devices). The CS6150 is fully compliant with the ISO/IEC 10918-1/2 standard relating to baseline JPEG still image compression and decompression. This highly integrated design operates in standalone mode with no host, embedded processor, or CPU control required, and offers a unique range of advanced image decoding features including the decoding of user-programmable tables for quantization and Huffman coding.
Applications for the CS6190 include:
- High-performance, low-cost document processing
- Photo printers
- Digital copiers
- Multifunction printers
- Remote surveillance
- Robot inspection
- Earth observation—weather satellite
- Interactive video—full duplex, high performance (with the Amphion CS6100 JPEG Encoder core)
- Professional/studio video—editing, production
