Altera Semiconductor Products - List of Banned Substances

Table 1 lists the substances that are banned from the production of Altera® semiconductor products.

Hexavalent chromium compounds

Polychlorinated biphenyls (PCB)
  • All purposes
Polychlorinated naphthalenes (PCN)
  • All purposes
Chlorinated paraffins (CP)
  • Printed circuit boards
Mirex (Perchlorodecone)
  • All purposes
Brominated organic compounds-Polybrominated biphenyls (PBB)
  • All purposes (for example, flame retardants contained in plastics)
Brominated organic compounds-Polybrominated diphenylethers (PBDE)
  • All purposes (for example, flame retardants contained in plastics)
Organic tin compounds (tributyl tin compounds, triphenyl tin compounds)
