Using IP MegaCore Functions in DSP Builder

Altera offers a large selection of off-the-shelf MegaCore® functions. You can implement these parameterized blocks of intellectual property (IP) easily, reducing design and test time. The OpenCore Plus evaluation feature allows you to evaluate Altera® MegaCore functions in hardware and simulation prior to licensing.

You can install Altera digital signal processing (DSP) MegaCore functions with the Quartus® II software or download them individually from the Altera IP MegaStore™. See the user guide for the MegaCore function or functions for instructions on how to install the MegaCore functions on your system. It is important to run the DSP Builder set-up script (alt_dspbuilder_setup_megacore) after installing new MegaCore functions (see Figure 1).

You can add a wide variety of Altera DSP MegaCore functions to your Simulink model. In Simulink, these MegaCore functions are located in the Altera DSP Builder Blockset library section in the Simulink Library Browser (see Figure 2).
