Problem

Does the Quartus® II software support JTAG programming of MAX® devices?

Solution

The Quartus  II software versions 1.0 and above can be used to program MAX 3000 and MAX 7000 devices using JAM standard test and programming language (STAPL) files.

Support for MAX 3000 and MAX 7000 devices was introduced in later versions of the Quartus II software. Refer to the online help in your Quartus II software version to check for the latest device support. The Quartus II software version 3.0 supports all In-System Programmable (ISP) capable MAX devices.
