Why doesn't the MAX+PLUS^® II software version 9.1 for Windows 95/98 recognize my software guard if it is on my second parallel port (LPT2)?

Description

The MAX+PLUS II software versions 9.21 and higher allows you to use ports other than LPT1 for their software guard without installing the Sentinel driver.

To use the MAX+PLUS II software version 9.1 for Windows 95/98 with the software guard on a port other than LPT1, you must install the Sentinel driver.

Here are the instructions for installing and configuring the Sentinel driver:

1. Run the following file: <MAX+PLUS II directory>\drivers\win_95\setnw95.exe
2. Choose Install Sentinel Driver (Functions menu).
3. After installation, you must restart the system.
4. After restarting the system, repeat Step 1.
5. Choose Configure Sentinel Driver (Functions menu).
6. Proceed to configure all the LPT ports in your machine. Make sure that the Use? field is set to "Yes" only for the parallel port on which your guard resides.
7. Exit the utility after all the LPT ports have been configured.
8. Reboot the system.
