Problem

What input file should be used to program a Serial Configuration Device (EPCS)?

Solution

If you are using the Quartus®II Programmer, the input file must be a Serial Configuration Device Programmer Object File (POF). If you are using an embedded programmer, such as SRunner, you can use the Raw Programming Data File (RPD) as the input file to program the Serial Configuration Device. The RPD file contains only device-specific binary programming data.
