Why do I get the following error "Older Altera tools detected, Please install at least Quartus Programmer 9.0" when trying to open the BoardTestSystem.exe utility?
Description
You will receive the "Older Altera® tools detected, Please install at least Quartus® Programmer 9.0" error when trying to open the BoardTestSystem utility when you have an older version of the Quartus II software or a newer version of the Quartus II software installed. This utility was only designed to work with Quartus II software version 9.0 with or without service packs.
To ensure functionality of the BoardTestSystem, you will need to have your environment variable set to Quartus II software version 9.0 when you have multiple versions installed on your system. You can do this by opening Quartus II software version 9.0 before opening the BoardTestSystem Utility.
A BoardTest System utility for later versions of the Quartus II software will be available in the future on the respective device development kit web page.
