Title
Why does the MegaWizard Plug-In Manager on Linux crash when launching some megafunction plug-ins in the Quartus II software version 9.1?
Description
There is a problem launching the Quartus® II software version 9.1 Java-based megafunctions in the MegaWizard® Plug-In Manager when there are upper case charaters in the Quartus II Linux installation path.
To avoid the problem, eliminate any upper case characters in the Quartus II Linux installation, for example /net/usr/Altera/quartus_9.1/quartus/bin, and use all lower-case characters such as /net/usr/altera/quartus_9.1/quartus/bin.
The following Quartus II version 9.1 Java-based megafunctions are affected by this problem:
- ALTFP_CONVERT
- ALTDLL
- RAM initializer
- ALTDQ_DQS
- ALTFP_LOG
- ALTFP_INV
- ALTFP_INV_SQRT
- ALTFP_ABS
- ALTFP_EXP
- ALTOTP
- ALTFP_MATRIX_MULT
- ALTFP_MATRIX_INV
- ALTTEMP_SENSE
This problem is scheduled to be fixed in the next release of the Quartus II software.
