XPX 1X Single-Lane PCI Express Gigabit Ethernet Controller
The use of this design is governed by, and subject to, the terms and conditions of the Altera Hardware Reference Design License Agreement.
Overview
The XPX 1X Controller from MorethanIP provides an integrated solution to bridge a 10/100 or gigabit Ethernet link to a single-lane 2.5-Gbps PCI Express bus connected to a host or an embedded system.
The controller implements a triple-speed Ethernet MAC, which is compliant with the IEEE 802.3-2002 standard and can operate in half-duplex or full-duplex mode, and a PCI Express controller that supports split transactions and embedded DMA controllers for maximum efficiency.
The XPX 1X controller provides a flexible and evolutive solution for a large number of applications such as SAN (storage area network), NAS (network attached storage), enterprise file servers, firewalls, gateways or routers, and LAN on Motherboard (LOM) applications.
Features
- Triple-speed 10/100/1000 MAC with SGMII interface and full- and half-duplex operation support
- 2.5-Gbps single-lane PCI Express end-point interface with embedded DMA controllers
- Automatic flow control with programmable pause frame generation
- Linux 2.4 and Linux 2.6 drivers
