Altera Programming Cable Driver Information
Some Altera® products require drivers. For example, the correct driver must be set up before you can use an Altera download cable or programming unit to program devices with the Quartus® II or MAX+PLUS® II software.
All drivers are not available for download on this page. However, they are made available upon Quartus II software installation (<Quartus II installation directory>\drivers directory).
Table 1 provides driver installation and set-up procedures for the Windows versions of the Quartus II and MAX+PLUS II software. Table 2 provides driver set-up procedures for the UNIX and Linux versions of the Quartus II and MAX+PLUS II software.
Note:
- Windows ME, Windows 95, and Windows 3.X operating systems are not supported by current versions of the Quartus II or MAX+PLUS II software, and Altera does not provide drivers for programming hardware for those versions of Windows.
- Windows Vista (64-bit) and Windows XP (64-bit) operating systems do not support ByteBlaster cables.
- A driver is required if the T-guard is connected to a parallel port other than LPT1.
