DSP Training Class, DSP Technical Training

Code:DSP

Altera offers a comprehensive digital signal processing (DSP) solution consisting of a complete design software environment, DSP-related intellectual property (IP) cores, and performance-optimized devices to help you jump-start your DSP design cycle. You can learn how to use these products to implement your DSP design by attending a technical training course.

DSP Design Series

DSP Design Series Part I: Implementing DSP Designs in FPGAs

You will walk through the complete DSP design flow. You will receive an overview of how MATLAB and Simulink are used to develop DSP algorithms to build your system. Then you will learn to use Altera's DSP Builder and Quartus® II software to implement your DSP design in an Altera® Stratix® II FPGA. You will also learn how to increase simulation speed by co-simulating a design with a physical FPGA board.  With the link to the ModelSim® feature, you will be able to co-simulate ModelSim register transfer level (RTL) models from within MATLAB and Simulink.

DSP Design Series Part II: Using FPGAs to Architect and Optimize a Communication System

You will learn how to use Altera technology including Stratix II FPGAs, IP cores, and DSP design tools to implement a high-speed modem design. This course builds upon knowledge gained in Implementing DSP Designs in FPGAs. More detail and an in-depth analysis will be provided to implement the major blocks of the modem DSP design.  Software/hardware tradeoffs will be discussed through hardware acceleration for a 2D Video Filter Design. You will learn how to implement adaptive filters with Altera tools and IP cores for wireless systems which require sample rates in the range of 100 Msps.

Advanced DSP Design: Using FPGAs to Architect and Optimize a Video & Image Processing System

Learn to design and integrate a video and image processing system on an Altera FPGA by using Altera IP cores and system-level design tools, including MATLAB and Simulink. The features and the capabilities of Altera’s video and image processing library will be introduced. The course will cover the real-time applications of image filtering, color correction, digital video formats, video scaling and multiplexing using Altera’s video and image processing library blocks. You will implement video and image processing algorithms on an Altera FPGA through hands-on lab exercises.
