Consideration for the environment is nothing new for Altera. As our Green Initiatives Timeline illustrates, environmental thinking became part of our corporate culture early-on and we continue to make progress in this area. Our long-standing Environmental, Health, and Safety Policy seeks to comply with all applicable standards and regulations.

Altera will conduct due diligence with relevant suppliers concerning the origin of the metals that are used in Altera products consistent with the OECD Due Diligence Guidance for Responsible Supply Chains of Minerals from Conflict-Affected and High-Risk Areas. Each supplier must demonstrate that they understand and support EICC-GeSI actions and will not knowingly procure metals that specifically originate from the conflict mines in the DRC Region. We request that our suppliers provide evidence of their due diligence activities, and completion of the EICC-GeSI Conflict Minerals reporting template. Altera also supports initiatives such as the Conflict Free Smelter (CFS) program to validate responsible and sustainable sources.

Since its founding in 1983, Altera has conducted its business with the highest ethical standards and in full compliance with applicable laws. Every employee, officer, and member of our board of directors plays a key role in ensuring these standards and laws are upheld.

As a global technology leader, Altera celebrates our company’s diversity and the innovation that diversity helps to foster. We believe that a diverse organization and inclusive work environment enables our employees to thrive professionally and are critical to our future growth and success

Altera develops long-term relationships with our key suppliers to ensure a robust supply chain that is financially solvent, provides broad technology access aligned with our technology road maps, delivers competitive pricing, and fosters innovation.

Altera believes our employees are our most valuable resource and understand that their well-being impacts our business success and ability to innovate.

Altera is committed to operating its business in a socially responsible manner while complying with all relevant laws and regulations. We strive to continually improve our CSR Management System to advance social and environmental responsibility and business ethics while supporting the EICC Code of Conduct.

In everything we do at Altera, from operating our business, to leveraging leading-edge technologies to design differentiating solutions for our customers, we champion innovation in a manner that is consistent with our corporate values. Our values shape how we work as individuals, as a company, and as part of a global community.

Our Commitment

At Altera, our values define who we are and what we stand for. Over time, these values have evolved, but they have always remained true to our core principles and standards. Altera’s values—integrity, teamwork, winning mindset, accountability, and innovation—are a guide to how we work as individuals, as part of a team, and as part of a global company. They are how we represent ourselves to our customers and partners. They are how we attract the right people to our company and retain them. They are the foundation upon which we have built and will continue to build our company.

  • Integrity—Build mutual trust through ethical and responsible thoughts, words, and actions.
  • Teamwork—Collaborate, share information openly, leverage our diversity, be transparent. Speak up, debate, and disagree, but decide, commit to the decision, and make it a success.
  • Winning Mindset—Be positive, adaptable, competitive. Seek continuous improvement and be a champion of our customers' success.
  • Accountability—Define, own, and answer to your area of responsibility. Deliver to commitments to ensure our customers' positive, quality experience with Altera.
  • Innovation—Think forward, take calculated risks, be agents of change, adapt quickly. Create a learning environment where we develop our skills and invest in our employees.
