BCH MegaCore IP

from Intel® (formerly Altera)

Bose, Chuadhuri & Hocquenghem (BCH) error correction intellectual property (IP) is typically used in NAND flash applications. The BCH MegaCore® IP is often used as a companion code with other forward error correction (FEC) IP, such as Reed-Solomon and low-density parity-check (LDPC) IP.

The BCH IP core has the following features:

  • High-performance encoder and decoder
  • Fully  parameterizable:
    • Number of symbols per codeword
    • Number of check symbols per codeword
    • Number of parallel input bits

Typical expected performance and utilization figures for this core are provided in the BCH MegaCore User Guide.
