Can I program a 2Gb density flash device connected to my Intel® FPGA device with a JAM or JBC file?

    Description

    When programming a  2Gb flash device connected to your Intel® FGPA device with a a JAM or JBC file via quartus_jli tools or Jam STAPL player or JBC player, you may encounter an error message indicating syntax error. 

    Error on line xxx : syntax error.

    Program terminated.

    This failure occurs when programming any flash device density equalto or more than 2Gb connected to the FPGA using Serial Flash Loader IP or Parallel Flash Loader IP or Secure Device Manager interface.

    Resolution

    To program a 2Gb flash device, generate a JAM/JBC file for 1Gb flash and use that file to program the 2Gb flash device.  

    This problem is scheduled to be fixed in a future version of the Intel Quartus® Prime software.
