Why reconfiguration fail after JIC Programming for Intel® Stratix® 10 devices?

Environment

  • Intel® Quartus® Prime Pro Edition
  • Configuration and Programming
  • BUILT IN - ARTICLE INTRO SECOND COMPONENT
    Description

Intel® Stratix® 10 devices will fail in subsequent reconfiguration after JIC programming if you are using the Serial Flash Loader (SFL ) helper image (Factory default SFL image).

    Resolution

Use one of the following workarounds to perform reconfiguration after JIC programming:

    1. If the Intel® Stratix® 10 device is configured, you can uncheck the SFL helper image configuration and continue with only the JIC programming.
    2. If the Intel Stratix 10 device is unconfigured, power cycle the device after the SFL helper image configuration and JIC programming.

This problem is fixed starting with the Intel® Quartus® Prime Pro Edition Software version 18.0.1.
