Description
There is an issue with the IAR Systems visualSTATE evaluation CD-ROM included in early shipments of the Nios Development Kit, Stratix Edition and Nios Development Kit, Cyclone Edition. The visualSTATE software is fully functional, but the getting started documentation and example design files are not installed properly. If you are using an affected CD, you will not see appropriate "Getting Started" documentation when you insert the CD-ROM, and the example design files may fail to compile.
A corrected version of the visualSTATE evaluation software is available from IAR Systems' FTP server. Click the following link . Download and install this updated software for a better experience getting started with the visualSTATE software. This version will guide you through installation, building example state machines, and downloading programs to the Nios Development Board.
This problem is fixed in Nios development kits produced in or after April 2003.
