Why do I receive the following error when trying to debug my Nios embedded processor design: r_nios_stack_crawl: error -24?

Description The r_nios_stack_crawl: error -24 message will be reported by the nios-debug script if the OCI debug module base address resident on the target board does not match the base address specified in the makefile located in the SDK/lib folder from which the nios-debug script was run. To correct this problem ensure that the NASYS_OCI_CORE variable in the makefile matches the base address of the OCI module on the target board. Commonly, this is caused by trying to debug software code targeted for a different hardware image than the one running on the target.
