Description

There is a problem with the links in the /bin directory of the ModelSim-Altera version included with the Quartus® II software version 9.1 for Linux, which may prevent ModelSim-Altera from launching.

To work around this issue for Quartus II NativeLink follow these steps from the Quartus II software:

  1. On the Tools menu, select Options
  2. In the Options window, select the EDA Tool Options category
  3. In the EDA Tool executable dialog window for ModelSim-Altera, select the linuxaloem directory within the Modelsim Altera directory.
  4. Click OK to save your changes

To run the ModelSim-Altera tools from a Linux terminal, ensure you add the <ModelSim-Altera>/linuxaloem directory to /build2/install/mongodb/bin:/usr/lib64/qt-3.3/bin:/usr/NX/bin:/usr/local/bin:/bin:/usr/bin:/usr/local/sbin:/usr/sbin:/sbin:/home/jchang/bin or call the tools from <ModelSim-Altera>/linuxaloem.

For example:

<ModelSim-Altera>/linuxaloem/vcom
