Altera Corporation, a leader in FPGA innovations, today announced that Silver Lake, a global leader in technology investing, has completed its acquisition of a 51% stake in the company from Intel Corporation, which will retain a 49% stake, underscoring shared confidence in Altera’s growth.

Intel to sell 51% of Altera to Silver Lake, valuing the FPGA leader at $8.75B. The move establishes Altera as the largest pure-play FPGA company, driving innovation in AI, edge computing, and next-gen programmable solutions.​
