Cable and Adapter Drivers Information
Some Altera® products require drivers. Your must set up the correct drivers before using those products. For example, to use an Altera download cable or programming unit to program devices with the Quartus® Prime software, you must first set up the correct driver.
Note: Some cable drivers are not available for download on this page. They are available after you install the Quartus Prime software in the <Quartus Prime Installation Directory>\drivers directory.
Table 1 provides driver installation and set-up procedures for the Windows versions of Quartus Prime software. Table 2 provides driver set-up procedures for Linux and UNIX versions.
Drivers for the legacy MAX+PLUS II software are included with the software setup.

- Windows ME, Windows 95, and Windows 3.X operating systems are not supported by current versions of Altera software, and Altera does not provide drivers for programming hardware for those versions of Windows.
- Windows 7 (64 bit), Windows Vista (64 bit) and Windows XP (64 bit) operating systems do not support ByteBlaster cables.
- To use the USB-Blaster II cable on Windows XP, you must update Windows XP to SP2 or later.
- A driver is required if the T-guard is connected to a parallel port other than LPT1.
