High Performance
Agilex® 9 Direct RF-Series
SoC FPGAs integrating wideband and medium-band data converters with programmable logic for direct RF processing at the edge.
Optimized Edge Solutions for Radio Frequency Applications
Direct RF-Series devices integrate FPGAs with wideband and medium-band data converters at high fidelity. Built on 10 nm SuperFin process technology with quad-core Arm processors, ultra-low converter interface latency, and transceivers up to 58 Gbps, they offer high channel density in packages that address difficult size, weight, and power constraints.

Benefits
High RF Performance with Wideband Frequency Agility
Direct RF signal processing simplifies system architecture and reduces latency. Multi-channel converters with 36 GHz RF bandwidth and 32 GHz instantaneous bandwidth allow receivers and transmitters to retune quickly while tracking wideband and narrowband signals at the same time.
Optimized for Lower System Footprint and Power Consumption
High compute capability in a compact form factor with efficient power usage, suited to edge computing and SWaP-constrained platforms.
Lower Total Cost of Ownership and Risk
Eliminating a substantial amount of external analog circuitry reduces system-level cost. The chiplet-based architecture and the RF toolchain integrated into Quartus Prime enable system-level debug, lowering schedule risk and accelerating time to market.
Specifications
High-Performance Data Converters
Direct RF sampling at rates up to 64 Gsps eliminates the need for traditional analog RF front-end components.
Heterogeneous Chiplet-Based Design
Embedded Multi-Die Interconnect Bridge and Advanced Interconnect Bus tile technology integrate high-performance ADCs and DACs with Agilex 7 and Stratix 10 FPGA die in a single package.
Advanced Programmable Logic and I/O
A high density of logic elements and DSP blocks supports compute-heavy workloads such as signal processing and sensor data pre-processing, alongside an Arm-based processor and Secure Device Manager.
Transceivers and Memory Support
High-speed transceivers and memory interfaces enable fast data movement across the device, with transceiver rates up to 58 Gbps.
Wideband and Medium-Band Device Options
Wideband devices cover a 0.1 to 36 GHz range for radar, electronic warfare, and signals intelligence. Medium-band devices cover 100 MHz to 7.125 GHz for military communications, 6G prototyping, quantum computing, and instrumentation.
Quad-Core Arm Processor System
A hardened quad-core Arm processor handles control-plane software and embedded processing alongside the programmable fabric.

Common Questions
Sampling rate describes converter samples per second. Usable RF bandwidth also depends on analog response, signal quality and the selected operating mode.
Choose according to required spectrum, channel count, fidelity and power. Verify those requirements against the exact device configuration.
Sampling jitter creates error that increases with input frequency. Budget clock quality together with converter and analog-front-end performance.
Follow the device's documented clock and synchronization flow, then measure channel alignment and repeatability in the target system.
Use filtering when needed to control aliasing, blockers or spectral emissions. Integrated converters do not remove every analog-front-end requirement.
Converter and FPGA integration can reduce external interfaces and board complexity. Assess complete system power, thermal design and RF performance.
