Developer Communities
Nios Developers
The Nios System Forum is a dedicated space for developers working with Nios II and Nios V soft-processor systems on FPGAs to ask technical questions, share configurations (BSP/HAL/FreeRTOS) and troubleshoot embedded-processor challenges.
Acceleration Developers
The Acceleration forum is a community space for engineers working with FPGA-based acceleration stacks such as the Open FPGA Stack (OFS), FPGA AI Suite and high-level design flows, to ask questions, share insights and troubleshoot issues together.

Common Questions
Start with the Quartus edition supporting your device, a supported HDL simulator, and programming hardware. Add embedded tools when your design includes a processor. Add DSP or AI tools as needed.
Use RiscFree to build and debug SoC processor software. Use Quartus to implement the SoC FPGA hardware and peripherals, using either the embedded Hard Processor System or Nios V, and to generate the programming file.
Choose HLS IP Gen for custom C++/SYCL kernels or AI and FPGA AI Suite for supported pretrained neural-network deployment workflows.
Use Open FPGA Stack (OFS) when building a customizable acceleration board or platform requiring reusable FPGA infrastructure and host software.
Check the edition and release support matrix, then install the matching device package. A newer release does not necessarily support every family.
