BlueFjord FBAP4@AGF series FPGA accelerator

The Silicom BlueFjord FPGA accelerator (FBAP4@AGF series) is a high-performance OEM hardware acceleration platform, purpose-built for compute-intensive workloads including cryptographic processing, data compression, and advanced 5G RAN functions such as FEC/LDPC offloading.

At its core, BlueFjord contains an Altera® Agilex™ 7 F-Series FPGA with a dual F-tile package. The FPGA and platform supports optional Hard Processor System (HPS)—equipped with four 64-bit ARM Cortex-A53 cores—complemented by a powerful programmable logic fabric. Its scalable FPGA logic capacity ranges from 573K up to 2.7M logic elements, enabling highly adaptable solutions tailored to varying performance needs. Options for different DDR4 capacities, and option for MCIO x16 for extra/alternative PCIe Gen4x16.

-SACA (Silicom Accelerated Crypto Adapter) enables offloading of various cryptographic algorithms, including support for Elliptic Curve Cryptography (ECC) and Post-Quantum Cryptography (PQC)—fully compatible with OpenSSL 3.5, NGiNX and APACHE. Eideticom® NoLoad leverages BlueFjord to offload intensive crypto/data processing tasks from the host CPU, benefiting from onboard HPS cores for enhanced card-level capabilities, providing a future proof programmable platform to offload the ever evolving algorithms.

-SARA (Silicom Accelerated RAN Adapter) enables 5G New Radio standards-based offloading of both FEC/LDPC as well as HARQ operations in mobile radio networks—minimizing deployment footprint while achieving maximum throughput and compatibility.

Beyond these core solutions, BlueFjord includes a comprehensive Board Support Package (BSP) featuring development tools, drivers, and board management resources. This enables rapid deployment of FPGA acceleration and facilitates custom offload designs.
