The SVF2Jam utility, version 2.3, for the JamTM Standard Test and Programming Language (STAPL) allows you to convert existing serial vector format (SVF) files to Jam Files. The SVF2Jam utility offers vendor independence to any designer with a Jam Player; on the same board, designers can mix and match PLDs that offer JTAG-based in-system programmability (ISP) and SVF file support. This conversion demonstrates the truly vendor-independent nature of the Jam language.

SVF2Jam does a literal translation of each SVF statement to the corresponding Jam statement. For a completely optimized Jam File, contact the appropriate PLD vendor for a native Jam Composer

Download the 8051 Jam Byte-Code Player version 1.0
8051 Jam Byte-Code Player
The 8051 Jam Byte-Code Player is written in the C programming language specifically for the architecture of the 8051 family of microprocessors. Together, the 8051 Jam Byte-Code Player and .jbc files from the supporting vendor allow test and programming algorithms for IEEE 1149.1 Joint Test Action Group (JTAG)-compliant devices to be asserted in devices via the JTAG port using an 8051. The construction of the 8051 Jam Byte-Code Player permits fast programming times, small programming files, and easy in-field upgrades. Version 1.0 is the first release of the 8051 Jam Byte-Code Player, and it will read Jam Byte-Code (JBC) Files that comply with the Jam Specification version 1.1. The 8051 Jam Player source code (jbi51.c) is provided as an example port for a specific processor architecture.
jbc2data Utility
Also included with the 8051 Jam Byte-Code Player is the jbc2data conversion utility. This utility converts binary Jam Byte-Code files (.jbc) into a hexadecimal data array. This array can then be included in the source code when storing the JBC file in ROM.

The Jam Standard Test and Programming Language (STAPL) Byte-Code Compiler version 2.4 compiles Jam STAPL (.jam) files, which are in text format, into binary Jam STAPL Byte-Code (.jbc) files.
The Jam STAPL Byte-Code Compiler version 2.4 compiles older Jam version 1.1 files and new Jam files, which are in text format, into binary JBC files. This compiler also converts older Jam version 1.1 files into Jam STAPL Byte-Code files.
The JBC compiles the text Jam commands using a stack-based virtual machine architecture. The resulting JBC file is applied when read by an interpreter— the Jam STAPL Byte-Code Player.
